Bilal and Miriam live a peaceful life in an idyllic village in the countryside. When Bilal's mother was on her death bed she whispered to him that she would like a mosque to be built in the same village. But Bilal was unsure - what a task ! What would the rest of the villagers think ? This book explores Muslim society and their beliefs and touches on how they are sometimes opposed and sometimes looked on differently because of their beliefs. The book looks at faith and cultures in Britain today whilst focusing on how grief plays a part in every one's life at times yet the author has brought some humour to the book which I liked. The book also asks what do we call a home ? Is it just the building we live in or is it the community that help us thrive ?
