The premise of this book is really unique, and actually from the title and blurb didn't interest me much. However I gave it a chance due to how much I loved the authors 2 previous books. And I'm glad I did! Although quite different to the previous two whcih were more romcoms, her writing is entertaining as always!
The story has the potential to be both impactful and entertaining and I'm actually really looking forward to the rest of the book.
One thing I really appreciate about this book, which may come from the fact that the writer is a Muslim too, is the diversity of the Muslim punjabi characters. All too often they're stereotyped or painted with the same brush. However there is real nuance in each characters personality, and the fact that they're Muslim, although a crucial part of the plot, is not their only characteristic. They're fleshed out, and well thought out!
