This Green and Pleasant Land, is one of those books, that when you open the book, turn to the first sentence, you are at once captivated by the warmth of it's story.
Bilal, loving son, good husband , stepfather, and all round nice guy, but he has a problem,
The problem is this: his mother, on her deathbed asked him to do one thing, build a Mosque, in the quaint village of Babbel's End. His wife is horrified, his friends and neighbours are a little unnerved, and Bill (as his friends call him) is caught between, honouring his mothers last wish and upsetting everyone if he does.
Full of laugh out loud lines, wonderful characters, and an important story, with an important question, "Where is home?" Is it where you were born? Or is it where your heart lies?
Personally I loved the book, and the poem at the back is just perfect . One to re read, as it is a feel good book. X
