A beautiful story that follows Bilal as he looks after his Khala and worrying about his wife and his marriage all whilst there is uproar in his village.

I loved the cultural aspect of this book as it gave an insight as well as highlighting the importance of understanding, compassion and conflict resolution.

Whilst the story itself wasn’t as gripping as i would have hoped for it was beautifully written and I enjoyed the story surrounding the village including the conflict and controversy.

I’m always an advocate for books written by and around other cultures as I think it’s a more realistic portrayal as opposed a stereotypical or biased view. This was a great represent of that and I loved getting an authentic feel for the culture.
