This is a story about a couple Billal and his wife Mariam they live in a quiet English village.
Billal mother is dying and he goes to visit her one last time. On her death bed she tells him that her dying wish is for him to build a mosque in their village. Billal isnโt really that religious.
Both him and his wife a members of many community projects within the village.
Billal wants to carry out his mothers wish however what he did not expect was the hatred, racial tension and bigotry within the community.
However tables do start to turn.
A well written book. The characters are well researched, well written and have great depth.
In todayโs current climate it is a very apt book.
