I have to admit that I wasn't immediately attracted by either the cover of this book or the synopsis (probably unsurprisingly as I'm decades older than the YA demographic it's written for!) and so wasn't expecting to particularly enjoy or feel engaged with the story. However, by the time I'd reached the end of the 'sneak peek' I was impressed by how evocatively the author had brought all the characters so vividly to life and had set the scene for what promises to be fun-filled story which is likely to appeal to its target readership.
