A bit meh
This book was OK. I would like to be able to choose a more descriptive adjective, but it was just OK.
We are thrown into the teen world of Adnan and Zara, best friends who everyone thinks they should be a couple.
When Adnan meets Cami, who has a strict father, he asks Zara to pretend to be in a relationship with him as a cover for his relationship with Cami. So far so good, although Zara being forced to go on all the dates as a threesome is just weird.
Then Zara meets Yahya and it gets more complicated. Add to that. Zara's best friend, Sadie, is making a documentary on love and doesn't realise her central couple are fake.
Despite all the twists and turns it seemed to be a little slow, with little actually happening from page to page.
I felt it was a little long and could have been 100 pages shorter in order to tighten up the plot.
Some YA can be a great read but I felt this was perhaps trying too hard.
