It's not exactly a page turner, but it's a sweet, casual read if you are into teenage novels. I did appreciate the fact that the story is about a Bangladeshi family living in another country as that culture is very underrepresented in modern literature, and needs to be represented more. It was relatable and heart-warming at times, and sheds light on how even now people do not fully understand how to be non-judgmental and avoid common stereotypes about South Asian cultures or any culture for that matter. It was also knowledgable as I have friends from Bangladeshi backgrounds and it was good to get an insight into how things look from their perspective. I am looking forward to reading more from this author, possibly something catered to an older audience. Overall, the book was entertaining, and I enjoyed it even more with some chai and samosas!
