I read this some time ago and if you tell me to recommend a contemporary book it would be this one.
its one of those that you just have to finish off, so easy to read. I'm south asian muslim so it made me excited to read about fellow brown muslims. it's fun, good writing, some great humour in there and will make to shed a few tears.
I also really liked the main two characters especially adnan so that helped! you really feel for the characters.
I actually want to read it again if you want something to take your mind off reality and suck you in for hours this is it. now one thing when it come to islamic representation this isn't it but that's ok it doesn't claim to be its more of a brown liberal muslim type book so bear that in mind when your'e reading.
