This book intrigued me from the beginning. It contains a trope that I absolutely adore: fake dating. Being a South Asian living in the UK I really related to this book.

Zara and her best friend, Adnan fake date in order to help him hide his secret girlfriend. She agrees believing it will help her parent’s relationship.

What I loved is reading how Zara is an audiobook listener, which is something that I love aswell. Zara’s character felt very nuanced and real aswell. She is by no means perfect and flaws like we all do. She is awkward and her palms become sweaty when she is nervous, which I related to aswell.

I flew through this book for two days and I’m glad I picked it up. I am a sucker for the fake dating trope so it was a no brainier that I was gonna love this book. There are also not many South Asian books that are set in the UK, so it was very refreshing for me to read this book.
