This is the story of how two teenagers who have been best friends all their lives got into a fake dating situation. Zara and Adnan really are the best of friends, their parents are friends, and the pair, along with their parents often have meals together. The parents are all into matchmaking and they would like Adnan and Zara to fall in love and now they are both old enough the parents think the time is right.
So when Adnan announces on social media that he is in a new relationship , his new girlfriend Cami tells him that he cannot go public with this because she has to find the right time to tell her father. So rather than taking the post down Adnan changes the new girlfriend to Zara. She is annoyed at this , but the parents are over the moon about it. Zara knows that her parents have been having a few problems and she can see that this fake news about her and Adnan seems to be making everybody happy again. So she goes along with it, but there will be consequences especially as she is about to meet somebody new too.
