I liked the fact that I saw a different type of 'fake dating' trope than the regular storyline I come across, so that was refreshing and new. Some of the characters were annoying, particularly Adnan and Cami who had the nerve to be angry at Zara for not completing their little request the way they had planned - so they could be together in secret.

I enjoyed the aspect of Zara navigating her relationship with her parents as it was really sweet and it would have been nice to see more scenes of this nature. Diversity is a huge inclusion in this book with the addition of Desi culture playing a role.

One thing I did find a bit strange was the emphasis on the game 'Pokemon Go'. I am not sure if this is a relatable topic as I personally am not aware of any teenagers who play the game on a serious level, but again, I am not a teenager, so I could be wrong. I think the pop culture references instantly age novels so they are often best to avoid.
