Honestly I was not expecting to love this book so much! I am not a big fan of romance and I only usually read it on holiday on the beach because they are sweet, quick reads. However this book had me gripped and out of my reading slump. I love the friends-to-lovers trope, and the fake dating sounds exciting, but what I love even more is choosing yourself first, and this book did it brilliantly.
Not only does it have great representation all around, but it is fun, sweet and honestly relatable.
The friendship between Adnan and Zara was wonderfully built, to the point I ached for a friendship like that with family friends that hang out together like their families do. This book also goes beyond and talks about familial relationships and communication and touches over the different types of love.
I loved the ending and the idea behind the documentary! Cover majestic as usual.
