When I first started reading this book, I wasn't sure about how much I'd like it because it is focused around the South Asian community and I couldn't relate to it that much (incidentally what it must be like for South Asians reading books set around English families so I'm all for the extra representation).
Having said that, I really enjoyed this book. It introduced me to a culture that I don't know much about, the characters had depth and were likeable, and best of all, I thought I could see from a mile away where the story was going, but there were multiple twists I didn't see coming, so it really made me want to read on and find out what happened. It was clever having proper chapters as well as text conversations between the characters, made it more modern and was a nice touch.
The descriptions of the emotions were done really well, so the reader could really imagine what the characters were feeling.
All in all, a really enjoyable book, I hope the author writes more!
