Because I was a bit put off by the cover, I almost didn't bother to read the first impression. However, I decided that there is truth in the old adage "don't judge a book by its cover", so I overcame my initial resistance and immediately felt drawn into the story and think that it would hold my interest. Not only does it deal with a hidden secret (always a pull for me!) but the fact that it is set in Rome my (favourite capital city) and promises to also be a celebration of food (a favourite pastime!) are two extra elements which make me want to read this book.
