To be frank I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this. I was wrong. The story centres around Lara, who has just arrived in Rome from Australia. Whilst at the Trevi Fountain she encounters Samuel and ends up travelling to Tuscany to take him home as his carer has disappeared with his money.
The story then flits between the now, with bits from Lara and her sister, Sunny, who is back in Oz, and chapters showing what happened to Lara in the time leading up to her being in Italy.
This is in essence a romance, but with depth. It has mental illness, domestic violence and goats, lots of goats.
i want a goat. There is also a lot of cheese, real cheese, the type that goes well with a nice robust Italian red wine!
