This novel was a pleasant read. The plot worked perfectly with all resolved by the end. It wasn’t a book you can’t wait to get back to nor was it one you didn’t want to finish. The author did a excellent job of bringing the Italian countryside alive. There was lots of time spent on goats and cheese making - maybe a little too much!

The author offered a fantastic image of Italian families, their togetherness, the wonderful way they shared food and supported each other.

The actual ‘bones’ of the story took a while (almost half way through) to come into play and from that point I found the plot much more interesting. I would say this book is a good holiday read, nothing too heavy; a bit of light entertainment.
