This book is set on Pine Road in Dublin where the residents, in particular the women, really like to know each other's business. Part of the story is told through the Whatsapp messages that the women send to each other. There are some real characters who live on the street and as in real life people hide things from each other a lot of these neighbours are keeping secrets too. A good part of the story is based around Martha and her family who are new arrivals in the street. Having suffered an awful crime in their previous house they are out to make a new start, but they haven't quite come to terms with what happened and they are struggling to make sense of it. Amidst all the gossip, fun and goings on in Pine Road secrets begin to unravel.
I enjoyed reading this book, although at first I did have a bit of a struggle with all of the names and remembering who belonged to which family. It is a fun and entertaining read, which is heartwarming and interesting.
