This book follows 3 main characters (Edie, Robin and Martha) and their families/community on Pine Road. It explores the issues faced daily by these main characters, but also issues faced by other members of the Pine Road community.
I found this book soo funny, it made me laugh out loud in so many places. Especially the WhatsApp groupchat between the women on Pine Road, honestly those messages made me laugh so much, it just all sounded so relatable!!!
However, despite it being a novel that made me laugh out loud, it also talked about some really serious and sensitive issues (I won't go into detail of what the issues were as they make the storyline of the book and I really don't want to give anything away to those who haven't read it) but it just talked about these issues in such a delicate way. Each character/family were going through their own issues, and the book really raised my awareness to a lot of issues that a community can go through. It really opens your eyes that not everything is as it seems, you may think you know somebody but really you might have no idea the problems they are facing.
