This is the first book I’ve read by Eithne Shortall and I really enjoyed it! The book is set on Pine Road in Dublin, the main character is Martha, who has recently moved to the road with her family. As the book progresses we discover that something in Martha’s recent history prompted the move and that she has a different surname from the rest of her family . (This doesn’t seem important at the time, but, trust me, proves to be relevant!)
Other characters include Edie, who is desperate to conceive but her husband isn’t as keen, Robin, who has recently moved back to Pine Road with her young son to live with her parents following the break down of her relationship, and Trish, who also lives on Pine Road and is the head of the local school.
I enjoyed this book, a few places were a little slow but the twist towards the end made me gasp! I’m looking forward to reading more by this author, thank you to Readers First for giving me Three Little Truths to review.
