The book is relatively well-written, and the author obviously has experience of working with a wide range of people with different needs. However, she also clearly doesn't understand the lines of responsibility between a teacher and a student. A book about a teacher effectively kidnapping a student, breaking all kind of boundaries is somewhat irresponsible, even if it is 'in her best interests'. If you can suspend the disbelief at these things and don't mind reading another story encouraging people to mistrust authority figures (I'm not saying that they always do everything that they should), then I think it could be an interesting read. It seems fast-paced and like there will be lots of action and excitement. The characters are described well and fairly easy to imagine as is the setting.
