As a former teacher, I can think of dozens of times I thought "This child would be better off with me", though none of them as extreme as this story! I loved the description of Jenni's workplace, it was very realistic, right down to the complaints about covering lessons and the Head shutting the door on her to make her go away.
The plot is gripping enough that I'm interested to find out what happens to Jenni and to Destiny and how she gets to a place where she needs to find a defence and explain her actions. Who are the men in the van? What is it in Destiny's past that we now have to face? And why is Jenni so involved with this one child?
