When Jenni Wales notices her pupil Destiny has a black eye, she is immediately concerned. Destiny is a smart pupil but she also happens to be in care and when Jenni witnesses a gang coming for her, she does the only thing she can think of and takes her. Nobody else around her seems to be concerned and all Jenni wants to do is to keep the young girl safe.

This is such a roller coaster of a read! The book is told in various points of view and really does cover such a variety of serious issues - what it's like to be a child in care, human trafficking and grooming. It is very tense and fast paced so you won't want to put it down because there really are twists after twists in this book, right up until the very end.

I like the fact that the last part of the book jumps to a few years later so you can see where the characters ended up. A brilliant debut novel by Kate Bradley!
