Jenni is Destiny's school teacher, who is trying to protect her from a gang. The story switches perspective from the teacher to the student throughout the book to give a convincing tale into the world of children in care. Kate Bradley's background with vulnerable people highlights the issues within the multi-agencies and gives me the impression of it is very easy to slip through the net. The issues within the novel are more common that people think and, like some of the characters in the book, it is easy to turn a blind eye. Destiny's perspective was insightful and authorities should pay attention. Each character was well written. The only thing I found unconvincing was the end - I cannot comment on it any further without giving it away. Therefore you need to read this book to make up your own mind.
