To Keep You Safe is a real rollercoaster of a novel, a gritty thriller that takes you on a wild ride of twists and turns. The premise of a teacher deciding to help a vulnerable pupil is the launch point for a journey into a dark and frightening world, the action is fast paced and there are breathtaking revelations as the perspective shifts between the main protagonists. Yes, there are some plot holes and some illogical decisions but I chose to just go with the flow and I really enjoyed the story and the interplay between the characters. The writing is accomplished and the short chapters keep the narrative moving briskly, I was thoroughly engrossed from start to finish. A great debut, Kate Bradley is definitely an author to watch.
