I am shocked at just how much I enjoyed this book. Jenni is ex military turned math teacher and when she sees her 15 year old student, Destiny, almost get abducted she does the only thing she can to protect her - she herself takes her. I won’t include any spoilers but I will say this is an incredibly shocking and twisted book but extremely gripping and fast paced - I couldn’t put it down! I pretty much read the whole book in one sitting. It’s written from multiple POV’s which helps add to the shock value and depth of the story and explores complex issues like mental health and crime in a realistic way. I can’t believe this is the authors debut - it’s that well written. I’m looking forward to more books from Kate Bradley in the future.
