This book is written from the very differing viewpoints if the main characters. Jenni is an ex soldier turned teacher who has PTSD and has never been able to understand how people are feeling. Destiny is a girl in her class who has been in care for many years. Jenni believes Destiny is in danger of being abducted and as social services and the police appear to be doing nothing to help she decides to take action herself. Believing Destiny has asked for her help she decides to break the rules and take her to a safe place. There are many twists and turns as the story unfolds. We learn about Jenni's feelings of guilt because she could not save a young soldier. We learn of Destiny's life and how she really wants someone to care for her and listen to her.
