An ex-soldier, turned maths teacher becomes highly concerned about one of her pupils. Destiny takes a strange phonecall, has a black eye and appears distressed, putting her teacher, Jenni, on high alert.
Jenni feels as though her concerns are not being listened to, and after an encounter with the armed men that are after Destiny, takes matters into her own hands to protect her.

The main story is told in short chapters that are just minutes of the 24 hour timeline, from 4 perspectives. This made it a great read to keep up with and see things from all angles.

I enjoyed the storyline and it was actually quite different to other books I've read of this genre. It touches on topics that are sensitive and we tend to avoid talking about in real life, from PTSD, to trafficking and grooming etc.

At times I became confused about the direction the story was taking and I did feel a little underwhelmed, but there were also some great twists.
I didn't feel much for the characters either, if anything I preferred George, the head teacher that clearly cares but it struggling to keep the underfunded school afloat. I'd have liked to hear more about George's story, and what happened after his incident.

Overall it was a good book though and I'm glad I read it.
