I must admit, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book when it first arrived, even after reading the preview. But I was pleasantly surprised to find myself gripped in an easy going way.
This book provides the perfect balance between easy reading and mentally stimulating, keeping you on your toes just enough, but allowing you to relax into the story as well. It's always wonderful when an author manages to capture that, and it was especially lovely being from East Sussex myself when reading.
I did enjoy the book, although at times I was somewhat underwhelmed. It seemed to be a slight mismatch between underwhelming and plot twists, peaks and troughs, rather than a stable line. But - I would certainly recommend it because of the first reasons, and I would willingly read this author again.
