As someone who reads a lot of thrillers and has dabbled in most of the sub-genres that thrillers have, it's important for me to be gripped within the first few paragraphs to set myself up for a good reading session. I know they say to never judge a book by its cover, but the first few paragraphs are a big deal.

From what I've read so far, To Keep You Safe has a very promising start. The prologue hooked me straight away, and as I delved deeper into the intense morning Jenni had faced with Destiny's black eye, I felt myself wanting more and more. I feel as though the book will dart from Jenni's past to present, which I hope is done with a reasonable balance to help keep the plot thick and alive.

Though the characters weren't completely fleshed out from what I read (which is understandable considering it was a sneak peek), I am very interested to see what comes of them.

This is definitely a book to look out for!
