This was an enjoyable story, with lots of twists and turns in directions that you don't necessarily expect the plot to go.
Jenni Wales is ex-military, who is now a maths teacher. Destiny Mills is a girl in her form group, who is in care and considered unplaceable with a foster family; she also happens to be quite clever, breezing through her mock exams. One day, Jenni sees that Destiny has a black eye, and feels that she is acting fearful. There are also strange men hanging about the school trying to get hold of Destiny, so Jenni does everything in her power to keep Destiny safe from them.
The story is told mainly from the viewpoint of Jenni; however deeper into the book we also get the story from the viewpoints of Destiny, and one of the strange men who are hanging around the school at the start of the book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.
