The cover design promises faerie, royalty, undersea battles. Within the first page I could see the assurance of the writer and I was soon enjoying adventure whilst effortlessly being introduced to a whole new world of magical heirarchies beneath the sea and human kingdoms on land.
As a lover of science fiction I really enjoy seeing how all the facets of an alien environment and xenobiology fit into a logical whole, however strange. As a fan of historical fiction I have a keen eye for how the coherence of societies relies upon trade, culture, lifestyle, beliefs, diet, natural resources and technology. As a games player I look for shifts in power, special rules and long-term strategies.
I can already see these three interests will all be satisfied by this story and supporting it all is the glowing and powerful language Alexandra Christo has at her command. What a treat!
