It's not often you read a book where the first line references multiple hearts, but I'm glad I've come across this one. For one brief moment I did think it meant she herself had a lot of hearts, like an octopus, but I'll settle for seventeen prince hearts. That seems good too.
As a former marine biologist turned book blogger with a penchant for fantasy, this book seems made for me -- I'm a huge fan of Leigh Bardugo and really enjoy the works of Sarah J Maas, so my interest is piqued. I was a huge fan of Lorali and Aurabel by the wonderful Laura Dockrill, and I'm ready for a darker interpretation of mermaid mythology.
