The book gives me a really 'traditional fairy tale' vibe - reminding me of all the good childhood days! As someone who doesn't really read the fantasy genre often, I must say after reading 'The Cruel Prince', I've started to really get into these books.
The plotline is very original as I've never actually read a book about mermaids and sirens - except all the old folk tales.
Overall, this seems like a 'Little Mermaid' story with a slightly darker twist which is really enticing!
