As a huge fan of anything to do with seas and oceans, this book went straight onto my TBR list and this first look did not dispel my anticipation in the slightest!
From the outset, the world and character building in this book is far from watery (pun intended)! The rich vocabulary and exquisite characterisations throw you head first into the alternating perspectives of Lira and Elia. Christo manages to set the scene perfectly and my mind is already whirring as to what wicked plot twists she will pull off further into the novel.
I thoroughly enjoyed the nods to The Little Mermaid and Greek Mythology and with a deliciously inky cover reflecting the darkness of the story within, I'd happily follow a siren's call to get my hand on a copy of this!
