The cover of this book is what drew me in straight away. It’s eye-catching, a bit mysterious even. I like that it’s set in less modern times - pirates, kings and queens and castles: there’s a touch of high fantasy about it.
I liked that the main female character isn’t feminine and sweet. She has a bit of bite to her, and her mother even more so. The introduction of what she and her cousin do as sirens was fascinating and pleasingly blood thirsty!!
