This is a great enemies to lovers standalone to read if you need a break from long book series. It’s a quick read. I’m a big fan of pirates and mermaids and i loved the world building. The plot was great and seeing their relationship develop was 10/10. I loved how the male main character stuck with the distrust of the female main character, especially as he had no idea who she was. I loved the revenge subplot and the fact that she didn’t go through with it. I do wish he reacted in a more interesting way once he found out the truth. Honestly was a quick read and kept me entertained. I read it to get out of a little reading slump but fantasy enemies to lovers is my go to trope and trust me this book didn’t miss. The only reason i didn’t give it a full 5 stars is because of my own imagination and how i wished certain scenes would have gone (not that there was much the author could have done to make it better)
