This is a retelling of the little mermaid with a spin. Both female and male characters have killed each other kinds which is quite interesting to read as both of them have done some morally questionable things. It was entertaining to see how they interacted with each other and transitioned from being enemies that banter a lot to lovers. I feel like there should have been more room for them to develop the relationship naturally as it went from one stage to another very quickly. I liked both charecters but I feel like we could've seen more violence. I think liras decision on o not kill elian was quite rushed considering she didn't have a problem killing all her previous victims. The story itself was enjoyable to read and the world building was simple yet imaginable though the ending could have been more developed as it seemed slightly rushed.
