There had been so much hype around this book, and when I first picked it up I was a little disappointed. I couldn't get into it at first and thought it was going to be another overhyped book that I wouldn't enjoy. But after a few chapters the storyline began to pick up, and the second half of the book was amazing! Pirates, sirens, magic and a fantasy world all mix together to create a very enjoyable YA fantasy read, which I would really recommend to everyone! I really liked Lira and Elian's relationship, and all the characters in general! And the world it was set in was so interesting, with details of all the kingdoms bringing the world to life.
Although this book didn't 100% live up to the hype for me, I still really enjoyed it and rated it 4/5 stars.
