The enemies to lovers trope was truly spectacular within in this story, the main characters development was impeccable and was done very naturally. The beginning was something I would have not expected, quite literally showing a lethal and vicious demeanour of the protagonist. It was all very hooking and you couldn't possibly drop the book from there.
The world building in this story was done very well too, there was never a place where the reader would have been completely confused and was something to easy to digest while reading. The idea of sirens and pirates was well put all together and beautifully told in it's way.
It did not feel like a standalone at all from the pacing of the books and I would recommend this book to anyone with the love of enemies to lovers. It was enjoyable as I have never read any books involving such a world build and it was a nice change from it!
