I’m always weary of books which come up on booktok and that claims to be the “best” book. But this book was AMAZING. Not only was the enemies to lovers trope all that I could ask for in a romance but Lira ( the main protagonist ) an amazing head strong young women. So Woo we love a good female role model! I have to say the slow burn romance was quite infuriatingly slow at times but definitely worth the wait.
For some odd reason when I first heard of the book I imagined a little mermaid like story but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This dark fantasy YA is adventurous and exhilarating in all the right places. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy Sarah J Mass or Pirates of the Caribbean. This book will
relinquish any need to hop onto a pirate ship and sail of into the unknown. So grab I copy of you can and dive into the mystical world of Lira and Elian.
