Okay, so first of all I want to address my experience of Ya fantasy books when I bought and read To Kill A Kingdom. I had mostly been reading contemporary ya when I discovered this book on Goodreads. To say it clearly; this book is now my holy shrine, the book that brought me into the magical land of sirens, pirates, faeries galore etc.

I loved the slow burn romance, enemies to lovers trope between Elias and Princess Lira. She’s deadly, he’s deadly and together they actually have to work together to defeat (something that I’m not going to say due to spoilers!!).

This book is fantastically written, the plot was perfect, it threw me straight in and I loved the insight to the siren world that was showed to me instead of told. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this boon to anybody, albeit their experience with pirates/sires/fantasy fiction etc.

This book can truly unstick me from a reading rut AND it’s a floppy book which is the icing on the cake! Five stars from me!
