From childhood, the Christian Hans Anderson story called the little mermaid has always made my heartache, and even as a young adult I have a soft spot in my heart for it. This is one of the reasons this book has drawn me to itself.
The other was the delicious enemy to lovers romance trope that I just can not get enough of.
The storytelling, and world-building is beautiful and delicate, instantly transporting me to this gorgeous world. The characters are not perfect, which is what makes the writing feel perfect, as no one is always doing the right thing. They make some grey-area decisions, which is what makes me love them even more.
Overall, I feel compelled to put a spell on everyone to read this book now, or may you be turned to seafoam the next day!!!
