Currently I am obsessed with reading books involving sirens and mermaids and this one helped contribute to that. This ya book has managed to create such a well thought out fantasy and pulls you in to wanting to know more about the world from the very beginning. It involves the siren and human kingdom which are both well developed and described well. Most characters that are described in the book speak different languages and have different characteristics, giving the book a lot of variety which is definitely welcomed. Lira may be dangerous and lethal but she has a conscience and has been heavily influenced by the sea queen. Because of how desperate she is to please her she will do anything. Elian is brave and is full of curiosity regarding lira and I was fascinated by their connection and growth from the beginning. This book is adventurous and gripping and worth the read.
