Feisty and fierce retelling of the Little Mermaid
I absolutely loved this book! The authors twist on the traditional fairytale the Little Mermaid was exciting, fierce and feisty.. everything you could want in a fantasy novel. Lira is a sarcastic and savage heroine, flawed like we all are, but you feel like you really can see her grow and change on her journey throughout the book. Her relationship with Elian and the crew blossoms and you see the bonds of friendship form.
I loved the pirates, sirens, mermaids and all the strange and wonderful kingdoms that made up the 100 kingdoms.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy and still has their inner child at heart with a love of fairytales. Because who wouldn’t want to know the story of the 101st kingdom....
