It’s enemies to lovers. ENEMIES TO LOVERS. Is it possible to love this book trope this much? There are mermaids, pirates, kings, and battles. All of my favourite things in one book. The writing style is captivating. One page in, and I was obsessed. Of course, all the characters in the book have their own ups and downs—I shed a few tears along the way ;)—but their personalities, their quirks, their interactions seemed so realistic that sometimes I got lost in their world.
The plot overall, for a standalone, was perfect. It had the amazing beginning, a traumatic climax and a satisfying ending all in one. There was an occasional plot twist—there to make us shed a few tears, but who doesn’t love a good plot twist?
I would recommend this book to every single person willing to go on a fantastic adventure, for it contains all the humour and all the heartbreak fit for a masterpiece!
