I absolutely loved this book! It is like a dark twist on 'The Little Mermaid'.
It's told by two characters. Prince Elian doesn't want to rule: he just wants to spend his life at sea, hunting sirens. Lira is a siren who collects the hearts of princes. They are both trying to hunt eachother, which creates a brilliant story. It wasn't even rushed, but written at exactly the right pace.
I loved both of them as individual characters. Even though Lira is a murderous siren, she has a soft streak and a lovable personality when you get to know her. And Elian is a defiant person, who isn't afraid to get what he gets.
Finally, Christo's world building is just incredible. She's created this whole new world, it's deadly but you can't help wanting to be there.
