This book is a very good example of a basic fantasy book. The romance in the book is good and is enemies to lovers which I absolutely adore. The relationship between Elian and Lira is interesting and pleasant to follow.
The storyline is solid but not amazing. I liked the start of the story, the worldbuilding was great and the intros to the characters' lives were phenomenal. However, in the end, the story progresses way too fast for my liking. I couldn't keep up with everything that happened and when I finished the book I didn't understand what I had actually read in the last few chapters. The last fight between Lira and her mother was one of the most important situations in the whole book. A lot of changes in relationships and power positions happened in that particular scene. And although it was so important the writing was not so good and the story was not as developed as it could have been.
