It was good. It had a lot more potential.

I read this book two weeks ago, it was a good book. Not great but good. As a Greek person myself the “psariin” language did make me giggle a little so I don’t think it helped with my liking of the book. However the story was unique and interesting and although it does read as a stand alone I really hope that there’s a sequel or at least a whole series in this world.
The Prince and Lira reminded me of Jude and Prince Cardan in The Cruel Prince. It’s the “hate to love” trope that these types of books have. Some are great, like this one. Others are just so cringe. This book didn’t really make it cringey- thankfully. In the end I was just a little underwhelmed. The world building could have been a lot more descriptive. I guess if it’s a series then there’s definitely room for improvement. I would recommend this for people who like books about big voyages, action, relationships and mystical creatures.
