I think this is the best “Little Mermaid” retelling yet . I found Alexandra Cristo’s style of writing amazing especially the way she portrayed the love story between Lyra and Elian, two completely different people with ambitious dreams. The enemy-love troupe was what sold me this book and I haven’t been disappointed. The only reason why I haven’t given it 5 stars it’s because I felt there should have been more moments between Lyra and Elian so it would make going against their beliefs more believable at the end.
